Looking For A Scatter Shield For A Pontiac 400/389 ( Bop ) Have Checked The Usual Sorces ( Jegs, Summit, And Ammes ) Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find One.

I'm sure it's for Mark's truck. He found a donor wagon with a 389 GTO motor that sounds fairly healthy.

hey, true or false; i heard the bellhousings are date-coded now...
wtf,if it's not cut on or welded to, aside from an explosion, how do they go bad?

 

True, They are date coded for SFI , which is a type of safty something. Most thing after the date goes out you have to send back in for inspection or replace. Thats usually only for hard core race cars that they check for that stuff. I also hear that after two years they tend to get moldy.
