Need help freeing up a engine......

My 292 in the wag was parked in 1967, full of oil yet. I got the car in 07, pulled the motor and installed a 390. Now I may have a use for it, its still ***embled, and an old timer told me to fill the block full of kerosene, till it ran out the dipstick tube. I think this will work for the bottom end, but I think I should dump down the intake as well. BTW, Kerosene is higher that diesel here,and it can sit all winter full for all I care. Any thoughts?

How bout an engine with cast iron pistons? Guessing this would be the way to go.
