a colleague is looking for an adaptor plate (kit) to put a supra gearbox on a Jag XJ6. do you know any homepages? thanx!!!!
www.rodshop.com.au the castlemaine rodshop. they'll mate a supra to anything. also try www.dellowauto.com.au my ute has a supra box (that the previous owner installed) and it uses a dellow bellhousing. not sure about availability for the jag, but i'm sure one of these two will be able to help you out. great box too. really slick shifting. i have the five speed (non-turbo model) behind my aspirated 308, but i recently spent up BIG on the six speed, getrag produced turbo model for my project. a good choice of cog-swapper, i'm sure carps would agree.
the supra should be fine for anything up to about 300/400 horses... anywhere over that and you might risk destroying them... the getrag boxes are good for well over a thousand ponies, so they're overkill in most situations... oh, and you're welcome!
oh yeah, not sure what side of the road austrians drive on, but you may wish to stress to the guys when you're ordering the kit, which side you want the clutch throwout fork to exit from. it'll be on the right (coz our cars are right hand drive) unless you specifically state otherwise... something to keep in mind.
