I know this is a long shot, but I gotta ask anyways. A while back, I saw an old rerun of the TV show "Rides" that used to air on TLC. It featured a Burbank Car Club (Shifters,Choppers?), and there was one car that really stuck with me. It was a black, chopped and channeled '30-'30 A coupe that they showed pulling alongside a stock A coupe. If I remember correctly, it had a white top insert, mild chop (Maybe 4") decent channel job (about the width of the frame), was fenderless and had (I think) a hemi with dual fours intake. It was only on the screen for about 10 seconds and it was the most perfect coupe I've seen in a loooong time. I'd sure like to know more about it, maybe some pics, history and if at all possible, contact the owner. I'm sure someone must know of this car and who owns it, it was too cool to just fade into oblivion. Thanks, Jim
Sounds like Lance Solidays coupe. Did it do a huge burnout? I got the box set as a gift and throw it on once in awhile. Thats about the only episode I watch. The club is the Burbank Choppers. I am pretty sure Sandy and Verne are members on the HAMB.
Yes, it did a great burnout at the end of the shot! So any chance of finding pics of the car? I'd love to know more about it.
Well....you could try contacting Sandy or Verne. I wanna say Vernes username is,...uh Verne. I'd have to look for Sandy's name. weesner is on here too....he is a Chopper. Sandy is username Sando. He has the blue F100. I think they have a website too. www.burbankchoppers.com
Cool. I did a quick search and found out that the coupe appears to be on the wrong side of the country (Florida) and has been sold a few years back. I also found a pic of it and it's not channeled, as I first thought, instead it apparently sits on a deuce frame, which is even more impressive, because that car looked extremely low. I'm trying to collect enough parts to build a coupe very similar to that "look", but could never find out anything about the car, because I mistakenly thought it belonged to a member of the Shifters. Thanks again!
