Have 41 Buick rear end that I want to convert to open drive line. Anybody have experience doing this? Or are their any GM open drive line center sections that will bolt in the 41 Buick housing with the same axle line? Are their ring and pinions available in the 3.50 range?

    Thanks CR

Use your stock rear axle. Do a search on HAMB - the subject has been covered several times. I'm using the stock 3.36 rear end in my '55 (same basic axle set-up as a '41), which has a 401 for power and a 4-speed. I've got a lot of miles on it, including a few passes down the drag strip, just for yuks. Never had a problem with it.
