"> ">"> A buddy of mine drug home this old drag car and was curious what the body was exactly. Any ideas?
That happens to be a 32 Studebaker Rockney Coupe. I bought one in 1962 and have looked at it every Day since. Hope to Burn more Rubber in it again soon. That is the only other one I've ever seen in all my years. Kool! The Wizzard
I found some thus: Go to Google image click on "advanced" to get proper search screen put Rockne on top line put year on third line...I put in 1931 1932 because I think they are same body. Search. Got a surprising number of Rockne cars...search is of course full of hits on Knute Rockne's death, but I would not add in more search words like "Studebaker", because you can't predict how many hits that would block. Better to pick through the results for the car pics.
Ah, Just found some off of the Stude registry. The Carnut pic is an earlier model. http://www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com/rockne/rockneweb/Pic RockneReg-Bawtree 65dlx4pCp.jpg
I really like this oddball coupes... now get it going and take it to a show and listen to everyone tell there friends is a ford 32 coupe
Locab; That's not a 32. Check out the 3 door hinges and Visor. Click on my Name and go to my Profile, there she is. The Wizzard
I've got a '32 or '33 Rockney ch***is, and except for the spring arrangement, the frame looks very much like my 32 Ford frame. It's so close, it makes one suspect some kind of industrial espionage back in the day.
Sure looks like a 32 Rockne to me. I sold mine to finance my newest project. I'm sure I'll shoot myself someday for it. I really like the body a LOT. Here are some pics...
