What car did this come off of?? It used to be chromed pot metal. Heavy with no markings.. I googled 1950 dashes, mostly GM but found nothing.. Swap meet part 30 years ago.. People ask and I say "I don't know".. I know the hamb people are really good at this.. Thanks in advance for everyone looking, Milo ( clic pic) to enlarge 000_0108 (2).JPG 000_0109.JPG 000_0110.JPG

  2. Can't help you with the speaker grille, Milo, but it's good to see you on here. I really miss your hot rod builds from the past. Great cars. Hope all is good with you....Don.

No.. It's heavy chromed pot metal.. Could maybe be antique radio.. Has 4 threaded screw holes on back. I first thought to be mid 50's Oldsmobile but couldn't find any pictures.. I do know the rear license light is from a 1938 Desoto and fits the "W" deck lid perfect.. Maybe it's just a stumper this time.. Thanks all for helping...

All good ideas and some are close.. Mine is really heavy(pot metal) I think, chrome plated.. I still think car related.. It's flat for a flat surface.. It's not a big deal and I thought it would be easier then this..

I now think if it was car related it would have a part number on the back.. This one has nothing..

Aftermarket rear seat speaker grills would not have had a part number on the back side. From the days when you added one rear seat speaker in the middle of the package deck and if you were big time you added a fader switch under the dash.

    I love a whatizit challenge.

A lead to whet your appetite. I took your image above, copied it into MS-Paint and cropped it:

    Cropped image.jpg

I then copied that cropped image into Google Image Search, and it returned the following lead:

    Google image search.png

The link took me to this eBay seach... some parts, but nothing like your grille.
Daimler Headlight Grill in Headlight Assemblies for sale | eBay

Then I ran out of IT competence. Mebbe they are Daimler assemblies (Daimler is just a British Dodge, isn't it :D)

    Google on, my friend.

    Cheers,
    Harv

I think Harv nailed it! And when you look at that last link, there is a NOS one under "similar items"....
