Hot Rods Need help identifying motor mounts

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by -impalamike-, Mar 12, 2024.

  1. Going to sound like a total idiot here but can anyone help me identify these funky motor mounts in my deuce frame. They were there when I got it. Previous owner passed away so I can’t ask him. I’m thinking if they are sbc are they missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Mike

They look like they would accept the factory rubber mounts for a SBC or BBC.

If they are for a Chevy, it looks to me that they are missing the square pad for the motor mount to rest on. Without the pad, all the load is on the bolt. 60 Special

  6. There are two types of mounts. The width of the tube will determine it, one is narrower (tube size) and taller (mount face to block) and one is wider and shorter.

  8. Ford or Chev, should still have the support pad. Doesn't take much to do it properly.

  9. I’m leaning toward early SBF. Here’s a better pic. They may be the Pete and jakes mounts

They probably won't work with the Hemi you're planning to install....so just cut them out and start over :)

They might work fine, but you'd probably want to get ALL the parts together first, and see how everything fits.

Since we don't know what engine you're planning to use, it's all guesswork at this point

  14. Heck. I dont know what engine I’m going with either lol

  15. They appear to be directly across on each side of the frame, in about the position where a SBC would fit. I think SBF are not directly across from each other?

  16. They are directly across from each other, but the factory mounts have an offset.

  17. Look very much like my TCI frame and mounts. So do the shock mounts
