Anyone know where this swap meet find originally came from? It's a brass casting, curved in shape looking down from the top. I'm guessing a washing machine, or maybe a boat? I hope it's from a boat. It's a little odd to say I have refrigerator parts on my car.
Don't have any idea myself. Why not use it and let everyone guess. Probably come up with some good stories.
"It's a little odd to say I have refrigerator parts on my car" Who cares? It looks cool.... One of the food plants I work in has some Giant mixers for Bread Dough, the mixing bowl itself is about 3' wide and 3' deep. I had to change the Bearings in one a couple years ago, and I am pretty sure the name was "Speedmaster". It had a metallic, sticker type Logo on front of it that is shaped like yours. Yours could be off an older model that used an actual Badge instead of a sticker.

[/ QUOTE ] Come to think of it, there used to be a big Langendorf Bread factory on this side of town. Since I got it at a neighborhood swap meet, that sure could be the source.

[/ QUOTE ] Who cares...you got a cool name to tag onto your ride...I've got an emblem from an old refrigerator on mine...even the name Chuck Berry sings about in the song (Damn...can't even remember the song now!!!). My emblem sez "Coolerator". R-
I have a 1952 International Harvester Fridge. Looks just like the one in Monica's apartment on "Friends". Nothing Hot Rod'ish about the emblem on it though....
You all talked me into it, I'm going to replace the double stick tape with nuts and bolts and mount it permanent. I'm proud of my "frigerator" parts!
We use Heidelberg sheet fed printing presses called "quickmasters". Were "speedmasters" an earlier version maybe?
Don't feel bad, When I was in the NAVY I packed a 45 pistol made by "Singer Sewing Machines Corporation".
You are ADDING an emblem? And a random one at that? On your dashboard? o.k.. . . . ? Maybe you should add a visor to kill the glare off that emblem? Just messing with you, but it is kind of anti- hot rod.

I worked for a while on college vacations in a printing / graphic arts finishing plant, and they did have some presses with an emblem that read "Speedmaster". (this was a while ago)
Saw one like this at a car show about three weeks ago and the guy said it was off of a washing machine??

Won't a chrome visor just add more glare? Just kidding with you. Seriously though, in a year you'll feel comfortable with this concept. I'm the one who always sets the trend. Some of you will always follow.
i think it's cool.i've pried many an emblem off fridge and stove, just because i like how they look.if you want my opinion (and you probably don't ) don't put it on the dash where hardly anyone will see it,put it on the hood.it'll confuse the hell out of people who've never seen a custom merc before-george
