Great sketch, great ideas. I felt obliged to trace that Ned Ludd sketch to try out rear fender skirts. Guess what? they don't work as well as you might think, giving the rear of the body a heavy, cartoonish look. The stock wheel opening looks much better. Awesome job, Ned!
Should have a plate somewhere under the hood unless the builder pulled it with the serial. We have a '37 carc*** and on that plate it tells what city it was delivered to, you might be able to track it back to the selling dealer that way. I would try and ID the model from that, since there's a couple of eight-cyl models. Body number 1389 would be the One-Ten (six), 1399 the One-Twenty Eight (a DE denotes Deluxe), and 1379 the Super Eight One-Sixty. If the number ends in 8 or 5 then it's a coupe with the top cut off. They made a ton more One-Ten and One-Twenty than One-Sixty cars, and there are some other models (One-Eighty) that I don't see a convertible coupe listed for so I didn't include.
Snapping this back up into existance, cause Rikster never replied to it... Even if Rik doesnt know the car he usually says it...
So did you ever sell it? I swear I know that car from somewhere in my past. Why do I think Valley Custom might of had something to do with it at one time?
