Need Help in Texas, Longview that is!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chopped50Ford, Sep 30, 2006.

  1. Im not one to post a thread of this type but I need some help.

I purchased a 56 Merc. 2-door HT from Rstysht, Charles Boucher of Longview, Texas. Click to see intro on the HAMB. I have been trying to reach him for the past few weeks, and within the past few days have called his phone on the hour every hour (leaving messages), send numerous emails and PM's on the HAMB; so I can get the car picked up.

I have had (3) truck carriers who have driven to his place to get the car (even after calling) to find out he was gone...and no car to get or just cant reach him to make the pickup.

My Carrier broker is about to drop me because of the inconveniences/run arounds and like any normal person with no contact, I'm starting to feel like im about to get screwed in this deal.

I know his brother passed away a few weeks ago and its been really hard for him and his family.

Charles seems like a nice stand up guy, who lately has been through the ringer of hard times.

Either way, even after 50+ phone calls in last few days, why cant I get a return call.

Im hoping he was called out of town for work (he is a master metal-man who works on vintage war birds) and he forgot his phone at home.

Either way, Im asking for help if anyone can possibly cruise up to his place and knock on the door; or pm me and Ill forward his #.

Here is his address: 10709 hwy 149 Longview,Tx.75603

All I want is my car. All he needs to do is make it available for pickup.

If anyone can help any further, like picking it up or meeting the transport company...that would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.: I want to make it clear that this is not a "Sh*t talking" thread. Just a flag waving for help.

    Thanks to anyone.

Please don't tell me that this is going to end ugly! Norm, if anyone, does not need this crap. I hope the guy has a legit excuse. In my books, you have done enough in the matter. Step up to the plate and make it so Norm can get his car that he is intitled to. Enough said. Wish I could be there tonight to see the un-veiling of Dirts ride. Take alot of pics for me and the others please. Other than this thread........have a great time tonight bro. KNUX!

  3. Okay, now im not feeling comfortable. Just got this PM :

    Anyone, please help!

  6. Thanks TP

Let it be known, if the PM is correct, I will not hesitate to call the police on the matter.

    (Yelling) DAMMIT!

I also am from East Texas, and I know Charles also. While I agree he is no metal master, and can be difficult to deal with, In my experience he is no thief. I don't know anything about the VW deal mentioned above but if you can ever seal a deal he will generally follow through. I am not in East Texas now, but if you call Ronnie Hogg at Hogg custom cars in longview he will probably know what the deal is.

  8. Thanks Hotrob...ill make that call.

Im not speculating just passing on info.

If he is unreliable or anything of the sort....fine, I just want my car that I paid for. :)

  14. 10-1-06 Update

Luckily the internet is a source of good info. I found Rstysht's home number and was able to get ahold of him. 7:49 PM PST.

I also just recieved an email from him indicating what had happened over the course of the past few weeks.

Apparently his phone was stolen from his Hotel in Houson, while at work; working for the CAF. (Confederate Air Force)

It was somewhat a relief to talk to him, he is supposed to get a new phone tomorrow. Im supposed to call at noon Texas time to ensure the phone is in hand. Number is supposed to be the same.

The ordeal is not over yet, until I get the car on a transport.

According to him, I will be able to have it picked up this week...(if someone/faimly member can open the farm gate to the car) or solidly after 10-8-06 when he gets back from another job for the CAF, out of town.

Ill be calling tomorrow, Ill keep everyone posed.

I really want to thank everyone who has put forth effort to help me in this matter. I hope it pans out "good."

Rstysht said he would post tomorrow on this tread to ease things along. He did say the car is "for real" and that he wouldn't screw someone over.

Oh, I guess Rstysht knows the Dirty's. I asked that he call them all as well to help ease the situation in all directions.

P.S.: I really hate to have gone this route, but when your a few states away, your hands are tied and you really start to freak out. Seems like a nice guy...I just hope it is so.

I hope everything turns out ok for you Chopped50. Once you get this straightened up give Shiftymutt a call. He been drooling about your 55 all weekend.

  16. Update 10-2-06:

Rstysht called me today on his new cell phone. (whew) Original number is still the same. Looks like he got his phone issue taken care of. I also got confirmation that a pickup of the vehicle will be able to happen after Sunday, 10-8-06. He also indicated he made or will make some return calls to other HAMB’ers that have left him messages as well. He will not be posting today on this thread, but said he would try later in the week. Rstysht will be sending the title to the 56 Merc today, expecting to arrive at my house on Thursday: 10-5-06.
I think its safe to say at this point good progress is being made.
I will continue to post updates as they come until I receive the car.

  17. Well, I hate to resurface this thread, but im getting nowhere fast.

basically, I dont have the car: 56 Mercury, that I paid for. Now im (7) trucking companies deep that have tried to pick it up, but cant get ahold of Charles when its time too.

    Every time, its an excuse.

If anyone has a number (home or something) to reach him, anything is greatly appreciated.

I also have his address, I would be willing to pay for anyone's gas/time to drive by and pay a visit. If you can pick up the car for me so I can get a truck to your house to get it, Ill even be more grateful.

The only number I have is: 205-405-4253. His home number: 903-643-3307 was good until a few weeks ago, now I think its disconnected or changed.

    PLEASE...if anyone can help... :(

    Where the heck is longview?

and why do I feel like I should know this information.
as many Texas boys are on here, we should be able to arrange a rendevouz. let's get on this.

  21. On the Texas-Louisiana border, by Shreveport.

  22. That would be great, I would pay for your fuel, food and maybe a good time :)

All I want is my car or my money back...if I cant have neither, maybe a piece of his....

    Okay, I wont go there.

    I just want my car.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Here is a pict of the car. The grill is supposed to be bolted on.

The last he told me was it was behind his barn waiting to be picked up by the shipper.

after all of this crap, I say you get your car and your money. Then we let east Texas law prevail and take away his Texas "citizenship privileges"

    Hey Chopped,

I can't get over to Longview right now with my schedule. But, If you can get this guy to agree to a time, i'll send my trailer over to pick the car up. I can store it for you until you can get a shipper to pick it up. Let me know if this will help.

  27. seems like this guy is a bullshit artist

  28. Here are a few PM's I got thus far. I got a few that have emailed to pick up the car for me. Apparently its in plain view. I can send or scan the title if needed.

Im going to make a few calls today and the Longview police to get things started.

Fatstang: The Merc was sitting in plain site in front of a house just off of 149 on the west side of the road just south of Lakeport. I seen it 2 weeks ago. It's not inside any fence. I followed your post in Oct but since I didn't hear any more about it, I figured the deal fell through. Tell you what you could do...if you got the title or bill of sale, call the Lakeport police and tell them your truck will be there to pick up the car at a certain time and ask them to meet the truck driver. Make sure the driver has a copy of the title. I got a hunch if you explain the situation to the Lakeport police, they might be willing to help you out. I won't be back in Longview till the end of December. If you don't have this resolved by then, let me know by Dec 27th and I will go by and visit with this guy. I wish I could be of more help, but at least you know the car was there 2 weeks ago. Good luck.

Crowerglide: This car has been sitting next to highway 149 for two or three weeks. I pass by there on my way to and from work every day. I had a feeling I knew where you were talking about when you started this thread, but I wasn't sure if it was the same guy, and the car was nowhere to be seen from the road, until very recently. Now that I see the photos, I'm sure it's the same car. I don't know anything about the guy, but there's lots of old rusty stuff laying around his place all the time.

  29. No, not yet....its BS aint it.
