as some of you know im working on my car again heavy to have it on the road by September. ran into a problem with my belt set up now that I added my fan. my old set up had the generator on the manifold now its on the side and the fan mounts interfering with belt location. any advice on a solution would be great. and I will not put a electric fan on it. thanks Billy roadster engine.jpg

  2. Yeah, looks like that belt will last about 30 seconds. Can you work that generator mount up bit? You may have to fab something.

image.jpeg image.jpeg Mine runs on one belt. I did make a different fan carrier using a Ford generator pulley from the 30s when they also mounted the fan. The pulley was machined to accept a bearing. I used a stock carrier bracket to hold the fan shaft. As it is now, my generator runs on the p***enger side but similar position as yours.

    Hope this helps.

you need two-belt, pulleys and two belts.

Why not make an idler pulley that mounts to the front of the manifold like the stock generator did?

Get a different generator bracket. One that mounts higher. They are out there.
