Good trim is worth 10-20% of the value of the car, right?

Going all out on your car and skimping on your interior is like letting your wife plan an elaborate wedding then bringing a boom box for the entertainment. It looks good from the outside, but you're instantly disappointed as soon as you get in.

Never heard that but you know it makes sense. My $2K interior is a lot less than 10% of build cost. Thanks for that perspective.

If I had to wager id say it is higher than 20% on the OP's car since it is a roadster. The interior gets as much attention as the body and engine bay in my opinion since there is no roof to block the view. Interior can be something to keep your**** off the floorboard or it can be art.

Reading your original question and luckys' comment has me asking some questions.
    Do you base "value" on:
The looks of the job your requesting, sure you are, who doesn't.
Durability, is this car only gonna be a fairgrounds crawler, because after actually having been driven for x number of years and long miles at a time, you may wish you had not based your decision solely on price.
Is it truly going to be an open car, meaning no plans to ever put a top on it.
By the way, how hot does it get in Georgia in the middle of July.
Does it rain much in your neck of the woods during the cruising season? Material choice is critical, vinyl and carpet stock are not created equal.
Ever plan on selling it, roadsters with ragged out looking interiors don't sell well.
    Food for thought.

Taking over you wife's dining room table for a month. Well you can work that one out.

Anyone have a price on just seats? I'm considering having them done on my Ford. The seats are basically in good condition, just that the covers are shot and the foam should be replaced. I can handle the door and back seat panels myself.
