I just rented a building this week and while moving some cars in, I struck up a conversation with the owner about cars. We talked about all sorts of cars, then he asked me if I'd be interested in some old car parts he has had around for a few years. I told him yes, obviously. He says he has two NOS fenders and a two piece NOS hood for a 51 Chevy two door. Said he bought them 20 or 30 years ago to fix a car he wrecked and never used them. Now, if that is not BS, he is bringing them in Thurday for me to look at and take pics of. I asked him what he wanted for them, to which he replied "as much as I can get". My questions are this: 1: What years did these fit? 49-52? 2: If these truly are mint originals as he says, what are they really worth? That's not a body style I have any of now, so I don't have much of a point of reference to deal from. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Bruce
I suppose it depends on the Chevy but, I know that I can swap parts with Chevy, Olds and Buick on my 49 Caddy. I can also trade parts up to 54.
hoods interchange 49 - 52. 49 - 50 fenders are the same, and 51 - 52 fenders are the same. they do not interchange with other makes
...NOS does not necessarily mean mint original. just means new old stock. I would try to get $250.00 for a mint NOS 51-52 fender. prolly the same for a hood
