Technical Need help with 55 Dynaflow

Getting ready to install a rebuilt Dynaflow in my 55 Buick. I noticed the u joints in the rear of the tranny have a lot of play. I'd this normal?

 

What type of play are you talking about? Up and down, side to side or in and out?

Side to side. I have a 53 dynaflow and it has the same play

 

On on other note, when I received the rebuilt 55 trans ( for a 264 special) it was missing the torque ball assembly. I have 53 trans off a roadmaster. Would this torque ball work? Seems to fit just fine.
