Got the 55 pontiac painted and they didnt put the trim back on as they were scared. I have alot of the original clips but cant find any more. Does anyone make a plastic or nylon clip that I can put my trim back on with? Is there a secret different way to put trim back on?

I would imagine it would be the same type of clips that the chevy's use for their trim. I'd think they'd make them but I'm not sure.

I used t-bolt clips on my 56 Pontiac. It's the type of clip that has a flat side with a spring that fits into your moulding and then a threaded bolt attached to the center that goes through your sheetmetal. You can then put a nut and washer on it to tighten it up. The clip company Wurth or Au-Ve-Co will have them. Check with some bodyshops as they will have contact info for the clip companys.

If you've got the StarChief trim that is real wide up at the top, clips are difficult. I wound up welding machine screws to plates, and pop riveting the plates to the spots that the original clips went to, did that on my car. Other than that, standard T clips work.

If you find a source, please be sure to post both the source and the part number here on the HAMB. I have a set of '55 Pontiac trim to go on my Vicky and will be needing clips. Thanks in advance...
