at the time it was very low, it's a 4x4 by todays standards. much of the look of g****vine was the illusion of low because of the lake pipes.

  7. I built my own system by buying valves and a pump from ebay. I called Slam Specialties for the bags. I put it in my 60 Buick electra. I went with a 7.5 rear and ebay ladder bars to replace my enclosed driveline. Used the rear crossmember reinforced and clearanced for the upper bag mount and made my own plates for the axle. Up front, I took out the old springs and cut the frame opening out bigger. You want at least an inch clear around your bags. I welded a plate to the lower a arm and the top kinda floats in the upper by using a plate and spacer setup to get the ride height you want and then a "trap" set up I made out of angle to keep them from kicking to and fro. Relocated shock to outside of a arm. Parts store line and fittings. Friend donated old tank. I have a front/rear setup with 2 switches. Couple of suggestions, don't skimp on pump. Buy a Big one. Takes too long with small. A kit may be a better way to go. I just wanted to fab. I used www.layitlow.com for some info. Cost about $900 to complete. Worth every penny to me.
