I have a 52' mercury two door hardtop no post and the body flexes really bad when turning and the p***enger door will swing open. I've adjusted the door and the door catch at least a couple dozen times and it never stays closed. Is there any way to fix this easily? Do I need to weld in braces? I'm at a loss at this point. Thanks

Sounds to me like you might have a bigger problem like major body structural rust or a frame issue.

There's no rust anywhere on the body or frame and what kind of frame problem could there be?

Maybe loose or broken body mounts ? By the way your car is NOT a uni body car.
I ***ure you it has a full frame under it.

You could have a body mount rubber that has collapsed under the B-post. The latch/ striker could be worn out.

A 52 Mercury is not a unibody, it has a full frame under it. I would replace the door strikers and latches, check the hinges too (there might be a bunch of slop in them).

I know it's not a uni body that was supposed to be posted in a different thread
