Ok book worms....... Here's a problem to solve......

I was given a Ford 300 six with a casting number of "E 1TE 6015 AA" on the p***enger side of the block. It has a 3 speed manual attached to it and no clutch linkage. I need the clutch linkage!!!!
Can anybody ID this thing for me?

    Thanks

You need linkage for shifter or what ?
You have the wrong engine ID numbers . Keep looking . It will have a "F" in it meaning truck line .

There should be a 1 after the E,1977-early '82 dipstick screws into oil pan ,late '82 to '86 300's screw into the block.

You're right Jeff, there is a "1" after the first "E". So far I have heard this is a '81 or newer truck, van or pickup engine. I fixed the posting so it reads correctly.

Jim, I need the clutch linkage to disengage the clutch with the pedal.

The code just states that it is a 1981 truck engine and its the original model of the truck engine, there were not any modifications to the block at the time. Its broken down like this, the E is the decade, the 1 is the year within the decade, the T means truck and the E means engine. The 6015 is engine block, the AA means the original casting mold without any modifications.

This is link has all the basic information for deciphering the numbers; http://www.mustangtek.com/FordDecode.html

Thanks so much! Being a manual three speed, was the clutch disengagement hydraulic or by manual linkage in that year?

E1TE = E is for decade 1980's, 1 is for 1981, T denotes a truck part, E denotes part released for production by Engine Engineering. The double AA at the end denotes no Major or minor design changes on this part.
