I have a 33 ford pickup with all new Pete and Jakes front end, Hair pins, adjustable spring purchase, and also with a solo front spring. I drove it approximately 500 miles last fall. Over the winter I took the bed an the can off to fix some odds and ends. I put the cab and bed back on it and the truck is about an inch and a half lower on the drivers side. Nothing has been changed at all. The drivers side spring shackle is 59.7 degree (angle) p***engers side is 47.3 degrees. I unhooked the pan hard bar to see if it was pulling or in a bind and it didn't change anything. Pried between the drivers side spring shackle and spring perch just to see if that would help and it leveled the truck right out. Of course when I let off it went right back. All the tire pressure is the same front back and side to side. All the measurements from the ground to suspension points are the same. It's just leaning over in the body. Does anyone know how to fix this. Maybe someone can tell from the pics.
Loosen the front Ubolts, level ch***is and retigthen the U bolts back up in a criss cross pattern evenly. Make sure that you do not tighten one side faster than the other and then check to make sure that the U bolt plate has not bottomed out on the front cross member before the spring stack has fully tightened. If your Ubolt has bottomed out you will need a spacer block betyween it and the spring pack.
Are the shackles bolts the same torque on oth sides? Just askin. Maybe the shock bushings same torque? Are what **** said.
thanks for the help I'll try the ubolts . I don't know about the torgue on the shackle bolts. What is the correct torque on the bolts? I think I tightened them (tight) not to a specific torque spec. What got me troubled is that Ididn't change anything. Thanks Again Mark
