I am trying to turn my 1947 Chevy Stylemaster Coupe into a gasser look with high front end. Now I need to know what I should be looking for in means of parts and where to look and what to stay away from. I want front discs and front straight axle not going for extreme in the ait but just the cool old skool look. Any help is much appreciated as always with the fine folks from the HAMB stan_3r@hotmail.com sacred piston car club
STAN: Here is my Willys that I finished about 2 months ago. The front axle, springs, spindles, steering arms and rods, are all from Speedway Motors. Excellant quality and engineering. I used Wilwood disc brakes front and rear, with their hanging pedal****embly w/3 master cylinders. This is the way that I suggest, rather than hunting for mismatched parts that end up not working. I saw the parts on Speedway but wasnt sure if they were pretty much "fit anything". I think I will go with that cause that is look i am going for like yours. Car looks great thanks for the help.
Your Welcome! Just get the Gasser kit, I bought the 4" dropped axle. Depending on what height your going with in the rear, you may need the "straight" axle for the proper height up front. Glenn
I was not looking to be crazy high so 4 inch drop front might work well. I was thinking just a little high in front for that moonshine runner 50's hot rod look
