I'll bet that Pete Eastwood would have that frame looking like it just rolled off Henry's assembly line with a couple of days work.

All the brackets welded to the frame may be scrap, but the rails and cross members could be saved.
It's amazing what a grinder with a cutting disc could do to improve a badly built frame. Take it back to the original pieces and start again.

Yea, sell it to someone who wants to rebuild it. If you have a nice jig, fixing those rails should be no problem. Congrats on the score though, looks like fun!

  6. Nice find look forward to seeing someday, I'm over the hill in Gilroy
I have a roadster going to paint soon, had a new chassis built around my original rails.

I know it's a lot of work re-storing an old frame, but is is well worth it.
If the car has show and media coverage, installing a new frame seems
to be the tipping point as far as value goes. If you plan on driving a historic
car and want a street frame. I would suggest not letting the original frame
    out of your hands. Rich.....

I'd throw it in here and see what if we could save it...

Yeah I really don't see anything that bad. There is a lot of extra crap but I don't see any real damage. It's dirty and greasy with terrible paint. I'll bet after a trip to the sand blaster you'd change your mind.

You'll have as much, if not more time and money, by the time you buy new rails, crossmembers and getting it square as you will fixing this one. Plus you'll have an original with a nicer reveal.

So l go onto S.F. Craigs list and see an add for 32 roadater parts, no pics. And no prices?? So l sen an e-mail for some pics and low and behold they are from the roadster l just got???

It is so crazy how small a world this hot rod thing really is!! The fenders were really nice but glass and l was really mostly interested in the grill and hood.

So 30+ years ago when the previous owner took the car appart to un-channel it they had the side of the grill repaired and re sprayed and un fortunately it does'nt match the rest of the car:( but the hood looks like it was taken off yesterday!!

I also had the distinct pleasure of seing their photo album and they let me take pictures of the pictures. I was super stoked to get to talk with Lou and Diane and though they did'nt have anymore insight to who owned it before them it was still a pleasure to get to talk with them and have a chance to see the early pictures.

So if these pictures ring any bells for anyone let me know. I'm going to keep the origional paint and run with that but l'm definately going to un-channel the car and build it in a style that is fitting it's origional look but still be mine!!

Looks like whoever did the build in the pictures over compensated for the wheel location in the rear fenders. From Henry's original location it takes a 1/2"-3/4" rearward move to center the rear tire in the fender openIng. Looks like here it was moved at least 1'-1 1/2" .

Fab32, thankfully my build will not include fenders and it's going to sit on top of the frame again!!
But it was kina slick looking for the 70's, but the underside was scary, even for the 70's.
