Hot Rods Need Help with Hood Latch

Looking for a hood latch for a '56 Mercury and so far haven't found one. Anyone know if a 55-56 Ford hood latch will be the same (might be easier to find). Both torsion springs are broke in this one and I've not been able to source the springs either. Looked on-line some and at McMaster Carr but nothing so far. Any help appreciated.

 

I don't know if the '56 Merc latch is the same as '56 Ford, but '55 and '56 are not the same on Fords.

 

Seems like you already have a good latch, maybe fix it? Pics of the springs you’re looking for? I’ve had custom springs made for something otherwise unobtanium, was not all that expensive, though I did have to buy a dozen of them when I needed one.
