need help with lowering this,1959 dodge d100 spring over axle. want to keep the front a straight axle.does anyone make a lowered axle for the front or has anyone ever used a chevy or ford axle? thinking of a axle flip kit in the rear and c-notch the frame or go with four link set up. any pointers?

That axle is a good quality steel forging. You (or a qualified welder) should be able to modify it so you can put it on top of the springs as well. That will drop the front end at least 3-4" Gene

My race car is running a front axle out of a Dodge truck. I cut off the original spring mounting area and modified to get the right width. The axle is easy to weld to, so mods are easy. We did this to my fathers 36 Dodge special racing car too.

Did you find and answer? My 59 has an air bagged camaro front clip and a 4 link air bagged rear.
