Picked up a Mcculloch VS-57 supercharger at a swapmeet over the weekend and it doesn't turn. Disassembled it and found that the problem is that the input shaft is having a really hard time turning in the oil pump housing (it turns, but I have use alot of pressure to get it to budge). Any ideas on what might be causing this? Also, how do I go about removing the oil pump housing from the shaft? It seems like it would just slide onto the shaft and get sandwiched between two bearings. I removed the first bearing but the pump housing just doesn't want to slide off... or move for that matter.

If you do a search for VS57 or McCulloch there is quite a bit of information available. I have seen the factory maintainance and rebuild manual on the net someplace. I think it was the VS57 web site, they have a lot of info on there.
