Need help with paint on vette

Can anybody shed some light on why I'm having so much trouble spraying Nason clear with an HVLP gun? I have tried medium and hot temp. activator, and still cannot keep it wet enough to avoid a less than smooth finish. I'm using a 1.5mm needle. I'm really tired of sanding, so HELP!
