Need Help with Vin numbers on 51 Merc

Can anyone tell me where the Vin number would be on a 51 Merc? We need to have the numbers varified for registration but don't know where to look. I've looked on the top of the frame rail just ahead of the firewall on the drivers side but , NO Dice. Any help would be apreciated.

If I'm thinking right, look for a plate rivited to the body on the p***. side over by the hood hinge (that geveral area). I'll look on mine when I get home if nobody else has a specific answer.

if ya cant find a vin numbe the car is junk ill give ya s**** price for it...

 

Thanks Guys...........That's where it is. back in a recessed area in the P***enger side just outside the hood hinge.

Also should be on top side of frame behind A-arm on p***enger side. TP
