I have a 46 chevy 1/2 ton pu with m2 suspension and rack and pinon steering. I wanted to use a new tilt column until I found out that I could not use my stock steering wheel which I like the look and size and now I don't know what I can do for steering. I was thinking of using a 67 or 68 chevy pu column and steering wheel which has a steering wheel that has the same look that my 46 has but I'm not sure what issues I might run into trying to install it or if it is possible. This is my first restomod. Any advise would be appreciated.

You can do what I did, cut the column at the firewall, add a floor plate where it goes through toe board. Add a support bearing to the tube and machine a 3/4DD end on internal shaft. Totally original at a fraction of the cost.
I will be doing this again to a friends 42 Chevy PU in the near future so he can retain OEM wheel and column. Also replace the upper mast bearing while the column is apart.
