Hi all I have a 1926 ford model-t coup that had no door hinges so I bought some of the buget hinges that speedway motors sells and was needing help on installing them , how to allign them and adjust does anyone have any up close pics of some on a car and any insight to my problem ?
Iv'e used those same hinges on a 'glas project of mine. To align hinges that stick out you need a long piece of 5/16 or 1/4( I forgot which one)Round stock. And use the round stock in place of the hinge pins. If your pockets in the cowl and door are square every thing should line up easily. Fasten them to the body and then hang the door. Every thing should line up. Then replace the rod with the hinge pins. I hope that sounds as simple as it is. N.N.
I tried that by keeping the top hinge close to the body, then the middle, then bottom hinge seems to be to short , I even put a 4 foot level to make sure they are all level or even not sure what to do as I do-not any of the original hinges for a guide
