First off, you'll need a few of these: ...... ,,,,,,,,, ''' !! ???? Maybe I'm just a rotten old *******, but I really do not understand what you said. Cosmo
Why didn't ya change to new plugs too? Check them for fouling even if they are fairly new. Always get the ignition tip top before messing with the carb. What is the vacuum when idling? What carb are ya using?
You said it feels like a vacuum leak.....have you checked for that? Check all the lines. They are pretty cheap to replace too if its just the rubber lines.
Well its not an extremely difficult surgery as medical procedures go. Just a minor incision and snip the tubes. But I would probably leave that to a medical professional. OK about the truck. You can buy a re-manned carb for that turkey at the auto parts. Seems like there was nothing wrong prior to being repaired. If you think it has a vacuum leak find it and fix it. The engine has a points distributer? if its electronic and not points then short of spark plugs what was done to tune it up? Do you know anything for sure about the engine? Its hard for us to guess from a couple of thousand miles away. Maybe one of the fellas from the NW that p***ed English cl*** can help you out here.
I'd say change the plugs first. Honestly, that shoulod be a part of any tuneup. After that, if you still have the problem, use the carb cleaner test to look for vacuum leaks.
