Well, my old gray-primered Willys is getting close to being ready to terrorize the streets. But I'm struggling with the right "look" for air cleaners atop the tunnelram. I've got one of those old fined-aluminum scoops that go ontop, but I'd like to intertain some other ideas......

  2. Some old Velocity Stacks..or Hilborn style scoop..

Put a hood on it and don't worry.

A couple of Nicson air cleaners (flame catchers with a screen, really) would rule!

(They're funky aluminum scoop-shaped things that fit onto a standard Holley or Carter carburetor with a flat, rectangular screen on the front...you see them on old marine engines and drag boats alot...but they look cool on cars, too!)

Well guys, it does have a hood on it....and I do have a pair of old velocity stacks, and a old Hilborn style scoop too ! I really like the old "velocity stacks" butt I've got to filter the air in this bad boy, and those stacks with air cleaners on top of them just don't cut it with me.

or know of a place where I could find them?

  7. two old Cal Custom louvered jobs would be cool..or some scoops...Like they used on boats..not much else left...

  8. Fat Hack must have been typing it at the same time...I think the boat scoops would be cool!!

So, Glenn........now that you got the air cleaner dilemma all scienced out, tell me what the heater hose in the front of the intake is going to. Do you have a heater in your gasser????? In Florida???? I can't even entertain this idea. Surely there's another alternative.
I got a nice video of my brother's new gasser buildup. It's a late 50's early 60's anglia...the little square ones. His now has a chrome moly chassis/roll cage and will be NSRA legal to run 9's. This one has a straight axle too...sheesh! I thought the Morris was squirrely but at least it has independent front suspension...goes fairly straight most of the time. The anglia should be a handful!

NSRA legal to run 9's???? The last time I went to an NSRA event they tossed me because my tires tended to make noise.. [IMG]

NSRA told him to go away with his Morris Minor because it had less than a 90 inch wheelbase. That's the reason for the loooooooong Anglia buildup....has a 92 inch wheelbase

  17. Damn that car is bitchin!!!!

  18. I'd leave the hood off and run the tall stacks...that's how I've run my 55 for years (rain/shine). Just has that tough look....but I also like those twin scoops on 60's Style's coupe above....very nice!
