An old Crosley body found me, and has me thinking of grandpa's old dragster. He p***ed away years ago so, now I'm thinking of building his old car but do not know quite a bit about it. Here is what I do know. Bob "Burdette" Hawks worked at Quigleys esso at mill and sheridan in Williamsville Ny when he built the car. He raced mainly in pennsylvania and possibly the buffalo area in the 50's The car was a 2 door crosley possibly studebaker powered. It was named the belly robber and ran in the c altered cl***. Any info would be appreciated. Here are some pics of the car.
Crosleys can make neat little comp coupes and altereds.... stude powered? hell yeah...look thru as many "dragging around" sections in the back of the appropriate year Hot Rod mag and see what you can find...youd be surprised... Keep that flame lit.. T.H.
Watch this thread and ***ociated sites : http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431941&highlight=niagra&showall=1 Lots of talk about the cars that ran in Buffalo area, also at Niagara.
Rusty truck. Try getting a hold of Nostalgia Notions .com .They are a group of g***er that actively still race in Ohio Pa.and western New York. Might just get lucky and find someone in that group that remembers the car. By all means rebuild it and keep the dream alive.
