need info on fixing side spears on 49 caddy

any one got any info on how to fix some rotted side spears on a 49 caddy....... I called Cadillacs of the 40's & 50's and they said they could fix em but it seemed a lil pricey to me......... so i was wondering if anyone here may know what to do to fix them

 

Do you have a pic of the problem? Rust or dents?

 

Typical Caddy trim...'48 and '49...they can be fixed...but it's going to cost you no matter where you go...welding stainless, or cast metal, is not an easy fix...you might be better off to look for some good used that doesn't need repair...

I had some excellent trim on my '48 sedanet...sold it to a guy in Pennsylvania for $800.00 for the set...
