A buddy of mine dropped off a weiand 6 deuce manifold for my consideration. It is the old style with the oil filler tube and running 3 bolt carbs. It has 4 - 97's and 2 - 94's I will need to get 2 more 97's. no linkage and it is for small block chev. Is this a race only manifold or is it streetable? What year is this from? I am still collecting pieces for my fenderless A chopped 2-door. I want a 60's looking ride to match my T-tub.
i would keep the 2 94's,they're a better carb for everyday driving,i bet they're mounted in the center position? then set up your linkage so the outer 4 carbs(97's) don't open up til about 3/4 throttle.i'd bet it's about the right era for a early 60's style project, late 60's most people were running 4 bbl.carbs
i'm with george on that... having SIX carbs open as soon as you crack the thottle is, for one, a complete waste, and two, a bastard to tune. have the 94's open early, then bring 'em all on song once you're really mashing it...
Thanks guys. I figured someone on here could help. I think you are rite about the 94's. They are a little easier on gas than 97's.
