Technical Need Isky Cam Specs for Chrysler Hemi!?!

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by crazycasey, Apr 26, 2015.

  1. Hey folks, I came across a NOS Isky "Hardface Hyperbolic" Camshaft for the long snout early Chrysler Hemi engine. I think this is one of their 5-cycle 7000 series cams that seem to have been fairly notable for their day. The only numbers on it are "4HK7", and then "Crossflow" and "7", followed by a sideways "0", and then "007", or maybe "00L". I tried searching 7 007, 7-007, 7007, 70007, and 7000L with no luck. I'd love to know the specs. I'll probably end up letting it go, but I'd love to know what I've got first.

Call Isky. Ask for Ed. He will tell you everything about that cam.

...hardface cams have very limited usefulness, hope you didn't pay too much. And yes, call Isky.

  4. Just in case anybody finds this later with the same cam, my response from Isky:

Hi Casey: What you have is a 7000-T grind which is 290 deg. running duration, .450" lift and 250 deg dur. @.050 on both intake and exhaust. Valve lash is .018" hot (.020 cold) and you definitely need chilled iron lifters (file soft on top) to be compatabile with this Hardface Overlay cam. Lifters can be resurfaced very reasonably @rockerarms.com. .

    Best of luck,

    Ron
