Projects Need measurements for top mounts on A roadster

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mike Britton, May 26, 2009.

  1. I looked in search, I always ask the wrong questions.
I'm opening the doors on my 'glass body '29 A, and I need to know how far back from the door opening the tabs for the top are.
I can make the tabs from scratch and weld them to the 1" sq. that I'm using for support, but I want to make sure that the tabs are in the right place.
Part of me says that I'll never run a top, and part of me realizes that these cars are never finished, get changed a lot in their lifetimes, and it would be a****** to put that tab in after the fact.
I'm guessing that a piece of 1 1/2" x1/8" strap is about right, but I'd like to know how high, and how far back from the doors.
    Thanks guys.

  3. Thanks a million, Ken! That's exactly what I needed! Don't know that I'll use a top, but the brackets will be there if I do. Thanks again, Mike
