Need Model "A" pics of roof / visor area

I'm starting to fit the panels back together on my '30 coupe and I'm having trouble with this area. Can anyone post pics of how this area should should look / fit together? It would be great if someone had some pics of the front corner / visor / side roof panel without the welting and or top insert in place.

Nobody can help??? How 'bout close-ups of this area on a finished car? I may just have to take a best guess, but not the way I want to do it....

What part are you having trouble with? I dont have any pics to help you out. Are you having trouble gettin the sheet metal to fit over the wood? I just went thruogh this myself maybe I can help.

Greezy has the correct answer. I ***ume you know about the wood that has to go in first. Its a straight forward fit if
the wood is there.If you have the same as on my photo your
missing all the wood.

Make sure you have a 1930 sunvisor, a 28/29 visor won,t
fit on your 30/31.

Thanks guys, Been working on this all day. I'm doing this off the cuff so to speak. My coupe really didn't have any wood left in it when I got it. What was there turneed to dust the second I started taking the body apart. I'm not using wood in the car, just making steel parts to replace it all.
On the top of the visor there is an angled spot that seems to match up with the top (I think this area is called the sail panel or something like that), but I'm having trouble because when I line up the the top with the visor the lower rear of the quarter panel is about 1/2 an inch to far forward on the sub rail. The cowl is aligned right vertically so??? After several hours I have got it very close, but not to my satisfaction...

Mine was flat packed and butcherd even before that.. so i made the best of a bad deal .. Im too miserable to pay out for a wood kit so its all gonna be steel .. too for ever to get things to line up.. still a long way to go..

 

Working on replacing the wood on my 30 coupe as well. Refering back to Racefab's pictures, I have at least a 1/2 inch space or more between the visor and the side section of the roof.

Lining up the sheet metal by using the door fit to the opening as a guide and the metal strap that bolts to the windshield header and the top of the rear door post by the quarter window. So far just built the first piece of 1 1/2 square tube to replace the wood frame over the doors and still trying to figure out how to join the rest together. planning on at least 4 1/2 square tubes to replace the top bows, 1 inch square tube going from the door latch area around the back of the body to the other door latch area, braced and triangled to the sub rails. Will be mounting a piece of 1/2 square in front of the angle going across the top of the windshield opening to mount the windshield to. The angled sheet metal will bolt to this and the angle piece and to tabs welded to the inside of the visor along the ridge stamped in it. This will give me room to mount the windshield wipers and something to mount them to.

Clear as mud ???

I think someone who knows could 'splain the reason Boone's top has that wood header between the side panels and the visor and the other's don't?
Are the ones without it modified and pushed down in front leaving out the wood or is Boone's header in the wrong place or are there different versions in the different models in the same years?
Is it because of Briggs of Murray sedan bodies doing it different?

If so, there may be more than on visor even in the same year.

 

For DrJ,Boones has a 28/29 and the others are 30/31.
28/29 has a steel panel from side to side, about 1 inch
high on top of the visor.This panel is usually gone and it
looks like boones has made one out of wood to duplicate
the steel panel.

 

DRJ, being mine is a 29 2dr Sedan I would be interested in knowing if it is in the correct location. FlamedAbone commented that it looked different but he has a 30/31 version. From pics I have seen it looks like the 28/29 have a header above the visor and it does appear my wood is original. But it could have been dropped down slightly..

Looking at this 28/29 sedan you can see the visor bolts are in the same location as mine are so I think mine are correct. The upper visor bolt lines up with the door
