goldenginewith6x2.jpg Many thanks to the HAMBers who told me last week what size the water inlets are on my 6x2. Now, another question...... Found a fitting on one of my core Y-block water pumps which looks to be similar to what the builder of this gorgeous gold engine used, and that's what I want to use on mine. But I can't find them anywhere, online, parts houses, even hardware stores. Looked at a ton of pics online from several vendors, no dice. Pics show what I've got, and what I'd like for it to look like, so I need 4 of them. Any help? Who owns that gold beauty? I know I've seen it on here, is it Moriarity's? Thanks! fitting1.jpg fitting1.jpg fitting2.jpg fitting3.jpg

Swade, that would work if it was 3/8" pipe. Don't want to drill the cast manifolds any larger. Thanks. EDIT. My understanding is that the outside diameter of a 3/8 pipe thread is actually 0.675, so that matches my pic.

I see a lot of 5/8" hose x 3/8" NTP fittings if the 5/8" hose is big enough?

3/8 barb fitting. Check your local hydraulic hose shop that’s a common fitting

Thanks for the replies, folks. Still looking for one with a 1" end, but 5/8 may be my best current option. But now I realize that the 3/8 end is so small that going bigger on the hose end won't make any difference on coolant flow. Duh. I'm not as smart as I look.......

FWIW I tapped 3/8 NPT holes in the front of SBC heads and plumbed the coolant through 3/8” hose to a divorced thermostat housing and have never had a cooling issue even in 106* temps in Oklahoma.

Cut the treaded portion away then tap it 3/8” NPT then use a close 3/8” nipple.
