Getting ready to paint a 55 2nd series truck and i've been looking for a paint code. I'm looking for a code for this car i'm posting a link to. I've been up and down the internet and i've seen this color referred to as Surf, Seafoam, Robins Egg, or even Kerry Green. Ive also seen 3-4 different shades within each color name. For instance i've seen 3 different shade Surf Green Fender Strats and then another matching on called Seafoam green. What im looking for is really this color from this link which really doesnt appear to have a blue tint to it. some of the seafoams, and some of the surf's i've seen have a blue tint and i'm looking to avoid that. just a nice light green. the top of the truck to the line below the rear window will be black, and i've seen a black ragtop 50 chevy online that looked real nice. i've googled for hours and cant find the exact picture. should of saved it when i had it. thanks in advance for any help. here is the link to the color i'm looking for. paint code would be great if anyone has one.

  2. 1950 ford pickup palisades green? visit a good paint supplier look through paint chips. A PPG supplier will have older paint listings. different brands may have different names for the same color. buy a small amount and do a spray out it's worth it. a custom color can be made to match anything! if you do have it custom made buy extra!

Don't waste your time going to your local jobber as most do good to go back 15-20 years. To find long out of production factory colors try

    http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/

They have the most extensive library of chips in the world and can mix them all. They can go as far back as the early 1900's. You can view chips online as far back as the 1930's. You can also get the color you want in a choice of several different formulations.

Here is a link to a page with some of the earliest dated chips, circa 1928-30. . .

If the car was painted a custom color, short of contacting the owner and asking them what the paint code is, matching it will be a hit and miss game which can get a bit costly.
