got my crap today to bag my car .and i am looking for some pics of cleanly installed set ups in the trunk.....i want it to look nice as i dont have the time and money to upholster my trunk yet and hide it......thanks........i looked on the web but mostly found trucks so i thought i would see what you guys had ..........
I wouldn't show a pic of mine because it's not very cleanly installed. I mounted mine on top of the hump over the rear end. Most others I've seen are there. Usually compressors and tanks close to each other. Good reason to keep them on the hump is for protection. The stuff is up higher so when things get thrown in the trunk, you're less likely to damage lines, wires, or fittings.
Mine of course doesn't have a trunk so my air tank is under a sub floor in the rear thats under the back seat. The comp., and I would suggest this to anyone, is under the car on the pass. side bolted to the frame. I did that to get the noise bastard as far away as possible.
try layitlow.com..... http://www.layitlow.com/forums/index.php?act=SF&f=17 they have an airride section
I want to see good trunk pics tooooo....!!!!! you gonna have it done by Paso...???? we could cruise/park together... watch our cars sparkle in the sunlight..... Hahahaha..!!!
hers one of my broos old caddy trunk. and heres a fbss and a fb kit i just finished just lacking the lines and the trunks .but if you want it to look clean this is the way to go!
deffanitly mount the compressor outside the vehicle to the frame rail with rubber issolators. Them things make a racket. Anything you can do to sepperate yourself from it helps. I had plenty of room under mine so its all hiden.
Speedy3s, Nice work making those sub assemblies. The terminal strips are pretty slick too. Were those mounting bases hand fab, or did they come with the components?
snacks, yip !.....and yip ......how is it going on your floor pans ? find a room yet ? ....call me later today homie Hahahaha..!!! [/ QUOTE ]
Hey Donnie...here's how Killer mounted everything in my Fairlane. I will be hiding it behind a panel though...nothin' too fancy (no offense Killer ), just simple, like me.
all the set up i do i make all the sub brackets and like to have every thing mounted to the tankso its all in one spot and when it in the trunk orr the bed of a truck it gives a real clean look .plus 2 or 3 hours on mounting it to the tank makes for a real easy install.
ok guys, i'm in the same boat as donnie, just got my kit in the mail. i'm in the planning stages now as well. what about putting the valves on the firewall or the fenderwells? (for the front bags, obviously)?? is this not a good idea? it just seems so damned bulky looking having 8 valves sticking out of the tank, ya know??
