Anybody know where I can find a ring and pinion for a 1941 Buick, needs to be around 3:05 to 2:70. Also going to convert to open drive line. Or maybe a nine inch is the way to go.

    Thanks

If you're converting to open driveline, just find a complete rearend with about the right ratio, and that is the right width and wheel bolt pattern. I'm not familiar enough with 41 buicks to know what to suggest.

Stock Buick gears from 1940-1954 are 4.10, 3.90 and 3.60:1 ratios. There was also a 3.36:1 available midway thru '55. I don't know of any lower (numerically) ratio that would fit into your housing.

I'd go with a 9", for strength, cost and availability of parts.
