I need some ideas for an aircleaner differant from the stock type. Maybe made up from who knows what. But definately unconventional. Any ideas guys Thanks John Its for a 348 chev in a 28 ford sedan fenderless 4 barrrel holly. Flat black with 5 spoke americans.
Well, if money is no object, Don Garlits is marketing an accessory that looks like a fuel injection system complete with fuel lines and velocity stacks. It's actually just a really fancy air cleaner that fits over your conventional 4-barrel carb and intake. It is really a cool idea and looks great; made in Australia or New Zealand, but it's way overpriced in my opinion - $800! Somebody needs to reproduce this thing and sell it for about $200 or less...
Don't know what you're working with, but when I have a small one off piece to make, I will carve it out of cheap foam. This gives me a general idea and if I don't like the direction its going in, I just toss it and start over. You can get as unconventional as you like with this method without any loss in money.
On my roadster I placed a late model air filter between two old hubcaps. Looks great and gets lots of attention.
i'm running the stock air cleaner off a new harley. nobody wants the stock one on their bike plus,it looks better on my car than on the shelf. plus allows room for my wolf whistle up high.
that's funny . . . I thought those moon systems that dress up EFI to look like stromberrgs were really stupid and this thing you are describing is exatly the opposite . . . and to my surprise. . . . . . it's even worse! cool engines don't need costumes
