I have the 59 a eng and have a 3 carb intake with no provisions for a gen mt. I have the rt side ***y gen mount. That still leaves me with no provision for mounting a fan.

The only solution I see is to fab up a mount that will attach to the front 4 intake bolts and mount the fan there. Any better suggestions? Getting another intake is out.

    thanks,
    jim

I have thought of that ,but it would not be in keeping with what I am doing. A V/8.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

Check out my thread-something from nothing 29 roadster build. I made a fan mount out of plate. I have a single carb intake on there but I believe it would work with a multi-cab set up too.

What did you use to hold the shaft? I saw it but did not recognize it.
    thanks,

I may be all wrong and this may not apply to your case here but I thought I saw a thread on how to cut down a generator so it was only about 3 or 4 inches thick so it could mount in the stock location. I think they also mounted a fan on it. Ill see if I can find that and post a link if it will help.

I had a bracket and hub ***embly from maybe a 53 Merc. It had a mounting fork like an early generator.

I have the offset generator bracket on my 8BA and I just turned the fan mount around backwards. Had to grind about an 1/8" off both brackets so the bolt holes would match up but it bolts right on like factory and the pulleys line up and it's all stock equipment.

[IMG]Tractor this is what I need .I don't have a mount on the front of the intake. So I need a fabed one to mount on the intake bolt holes.

The clamp with the two holes holds the shaft and the clamp is bolted to the plate I made.

I got two fans from a friend. One had a fixed mounting boss, the other was clamped to the shaft. I used the clamp on one so I could slide shaft through the plate and nut and bolt the ***embly to the plate. In the first picture I had not drilled the plate yet. This set up allowed me to run one belt and still use fan mount for belt adjustment.

If you are asking about the clamp I think it is the one that is typically used to clamp the fan shaft to the usual front mount setup but he has mounted backwards on the steel plate above in the first picture. Here is the clamp by itself.

Here is another picture from another article about these setups. The picture below is from the second page of the article. Here is the link: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/flathead-v8-fan-clearance-issue-in-av8.666190/

Thanks W/D ,and Gordon C . I'm going blind reading. Great stuff. Still not sure of exact dimensions on the m/m from rad center.
