Here is the deal im in college on a set budget, I bought a tri power off ebay here is the part number so you can look up the description #2458533962 hope it works, well its a edelbrock aluminum intake #c355 with 94's and no linkage, he then later states their not 94's but Ford Holley carbs, ok fine i paid $272.00 with shipping, he says that the manifold is in "very good condition" I send him the check and get it and there is where the water neck takes two bolts to put on both are striped one measures 1/2 and the other 3/8 the half inch has a hole all the way thorugh to the water jacket, the carbs are not holley and are not for this manifold, the throttle wont clear and one of them is missing the bottom shaft. His name is Bob King he is in Maine, has anyone delt with him, he is basically telling me to "Fuck Off" after many failed email attemps. is there anything i can do ??? -Bigdaddy
I can offer you some Holley 94's at a real good price. I paid $30 each on E-bay. If ya want them, lemme know and I'll send my best three to ya. I will tell you they will need to be rebuilt. Also, try to heli-coil the stripped holes. Maybe a local rod shop has a wleder who can seal that hole for you withour killin' the bank. Pete
The carbs can work but linkage that is used will probably need modifying. The older carbs are best anyway, they are without the vacuum ports. I personally cant remember if the waterjacket bolt goes thru one those. They do on some manifolds, although the size threads are wrong. I still think you got a fair deal even though you out bid me on the setup! Satin
It sounds like the carbs might work with some attention/parts. Figure out exactly what they are and then ask here for the parts you need. Someone will have them. A few HAMBers can probably hook you up with a linkage kit. The intake can be repaired. Find a machine shop and ask them what it needs. Your local Vo-Tech school might be able to help on it (welding, drilling, tapping, etc...). Screw Bob Dickhead from Maine. He isn't worth your time. Make it work. JH
Dunno how good these inserts are, but they look like they may work to fix the thermostat housing holes. The 5/16 insert (.3125) has an OD slightly larger than 1/2 inch. Don't worry that the hole goes right through to water. Teflon pipe/thread sealant will stop it leaking. http://www.thomasregister.com/olc/SmartCat.aspx?az=72311004&type=details&template=http://www.yardleyproducts.com/ecomm/cec_q.htm&ptno=31218Q18-20ST&bgcolor=ffffff&stripecolor=C5D5D8 Also, post some numbers off the carbs to help identify them.
May have to get longer shafts, but it can be done. You may have to anyway. It takes time to make things work. Welcome to hot rodding!
Flatehead pete man thank i would love them, they have the 3 bolt pattern >>?? satinblack-FNG, thank for the encouraging words, and sorry about the biding man.The guy has offered me finally some money to get the thinged fixed, anyone in so cal from here weld stuff like that, i want to have it polished to, as far as the carbs they will probably be for sale. Thanks to all -Bigdaddy
Those are Holley 2100 series carbs; when built for Ford they are part of the 94 series and there will be an ID on the bowl such as 59, 94, 8BA, EAB, etc. You should use a matched set on the ends. If they say EBU, EBV, ECG, 2110 they are larger venturi as used on the Y Block and very useable. Extraneous vacuum and spark arrestor ports can be blocked/plugged. If you need to run with the secondary linkage on the drivers side any pre 49 style has the extended throttle shaft as well as later ones used in trucks. Easy carb to work on but lots of interchange gotchas if you're not familiar with them.
