Fired up my '72 Olds 455 in my 1948 Chevy truck the other day and set the timing but when I was done and went to turn the key off it did not turn off . So then after that I pulled the fuel line off and it still kept running the at about mid panic I pulled a spark plug wire then it finally stalled out. What and why did it keep running ? Hit me up let me know , Thanx.-Mark
find spark thats ignite fuel?check ignition + if it still on vire problem . or else something inside head dirt or a sharp edge can ignite your fuel.timing problem ? ken
If you have an electric fan sometimes there will be feedback from it to keep the coil hot so it won't stop untill the fan goes off...need to put a transistor in the power to the fan...might be your problem, good luck, topless
Post this on the main baord and you'll probably get alot more help. This section is for the Lonestar Roundup and things to do with it..Good luck
None of the above, you have the dizzy wired wrong. The easiest way tocorrect it is to take the wire that you have going from it to the ignition side of the switch and change it to the accessory side of the switch. Then try it. Wow, it's amazing what a single wire will do for the running of an engine, eh?
