I have a 1947 chevy fleetline with 2nd gen camero stub with 454 bbc and I want to make it a g***er front end what all will I need to do and can I use my front end still
---------------- It depends on how you define the term "g***er" Unfortunately It's become one of the most overused, abused and *******ized terms ever, here on the HAMB and elsewhere and is seemingly used for absolutely anything that's been jacked up sky-high and has had a beam or tube axle and leaf springs shoved under the front end. Your best bet if you actually want a "g***er" as opposed to merely a jacked-up sky-high, tube or beam-axled "street freak" would be to find an actual NHRA rule book for the period you want to represent and build to that and keep it as authentic as possible. By the way, while beam or tube front axles were usually used for their inherent lightness and simplicity, they weren't in any way universal or a cl*** requirement and not all actual "gas cl***" racers used them. About wheelbase and front end ride height too....actual gas cl*** racers had to maintain the stock wheelbase - usually plus or minus one-inch - and have the crankshaft center-line of the engine located no more that 24 inches above the pavement.
