About 4 yrs ago, a car turned in front of my '36 Ford pickup and I couldn't avoid clipping it's rear with my right front tire. My truck has a Speedway front end with cross steer and a Superbell axle. My spindle, axle, flat-plate steering arm and hairpin were bent and my GM Vega steering box got whacked hard enough to bend and twist the sector shaft. The standard issue 7/8" drag link and tie rod were unharmed.
One thing about tie rods and drag links is the ends have to be square to the centerline of the threads or as soon as you tighten the jam nut, you put stress into the****embly. I think this can cause the oscillations that are death wobble. Just my opinion.

Well, I changed to the tie rod and drag link to the larger stronger 1.125 DOM. No flex whatsoever. The spindles were changed to the round backs. Caster is now whatever these are, but the same on both sides finally. Also the steering arms the same length plate style. Tube shocks are going on today.

Tube shocks fixed any bounce there was. The wobble is still there about 20mph I guess but is less, controllable and easiely driven through. You have to search for it. I fabbed up a steering stabilizer from junk in the garage just to see if it does anything.

My make shift stabilizer worked. Rides and drives great.
