Pardon my lousey spelling first off. I have two cars one will have to go . Thanks to are great pres. Witch one would you guys keep on the two a finnished 36 four door slant back , Our a 33 pontiac 5 window coupe thats rust free but not but together easy build. Im lost as what to do. But i gotta sell one what would you guys do.
Personally I would keep the 4 door driver, but I have kids and a family. If you can make a lick on selling it to finish the other and put some cash in the bank, then could be the other way. 4 door is nice.
Nice cars! I suppose which to sell and which to keep depends on a couple of other factors. The idea that you must sell at least one of them suggests you really could use the money a sale would produce. If that were the only consideration, obviously sell the one that brings in the most money. That would seem to be the '36 Ford. On the other hand, if maximum money isn't necessary, then it becomes a question of what else is more important. Do you really want to have a drivable car to use as transportation and/or event participation....or would you favor having something to 'build' ? And, if the latter, will you have the money and time to do the build? Ray
Well put. My first impression was to sell the Pontiac anyway. Probable cause I'm a Ford guy. But, the '36 is a great looking car.
It may look easy, but the 33 pontiac is a wood structured car and will take a little more than easy to build properly. Man I love that coupe, but if having a driver is gonna keep ya happy the 4 door is the way to go. To bad you can't put that pontiac away for a future build.
Really depends on how strapped you are for cash. The finished driver will sell faster and a better price but then you are stuck with the cost of building the Pontiac.
That would be a tough decision, both nice cars, but for me, not having a hot rod to drive would be hard to swallow, so if you have to sell one, the Pontiac would be the one in my opinion. Like Ghost said, all the GM stuff from that era is wood needy and takes some extra effort, and even though I'm a Ford guy too, I'll be glad to take the ole Pontiac off your hands. Good Luck with whatever decision you make. BOutlaw
Poncho is maybe, what, 5 G's as it sits? And Ford is 15-20 thousand? If both were in the same shape it would be Pontiac hands down. But it's a big effort to build it. Replacing the wood frame with steel is slow but not too hard, ***uming you are good at bending the pieces used. Do you need the space & want a project to keep you busy? Keep the Pontiac. Do you want to drive a nice car now that it's spring? Keep the Ford. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I do really like the Pontiac. The problem is as the above responses indicate. It is never going to be worth as much as a ford, though it likely will cost more to build. The likely hood is that you will have a hard time recovering your investment in time and money. If the reason you need to move one is to generate cash, then sell the Ford. However, I don't think the money from the Ford will give enough to finish the Pontiac to the same level. This means that it could be a long time before you have a driver. Mine is going on 14 years. Good luck. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
So, our Pres singlehandedly is responsible for your woes ? I guess we all have to have someone to blame for our problems. Anyway, I would keep the Ford and sell the Pontiac, but that is just me. Don
I would unload the Pontiac in a heartbeat and enjoy the 4 door,,lots of 4 door haters here and probably more vocal than the guys that appreciate them. Count me as a admirer. HRP
