Can someone point me in the right direction for brake info Thank you and Merry Christmas Don in Indiana
***uming front axle. The easiest way is to use 37-48 Ford spindles and 39 to 48 Ford backing plates, hubs and drums. You will also need a steering arm like Speedway part 720-4010. If you want to use the stock spindles you will need adapter rings sold by Speedway, Mac, and others. The Speedway part number is 916-31928. There is a good brake thread pined on the HAMB Tec Forum. Something worth reading before you start messing with your brakes.
The video on the rear conversion is pretty clever. However he (in my opinion) has made a fundamental error. It's too hard to try and explain, but when you invert the backing plate and put it on the other side, the rear shoe is now the primary shoe and wants to be the longer one. What he did to mount the cylinder the right way up is right, but the larger end of the cylinder wants to be to the rear. Turning it upside down reverses the "long shoe and big end of the cylinder to the front" rule. Mart.
My advice would be to keep the Mose A spindles and buy the adapters (about $25). A good source of hard to find parts is parts is: Dennis Cling at clingsaftermarket.com, (480) 777-1202 Charlie Stephens
