Okay, if some of you have gotten tired of my questions, sorry - but I'm trying to do this right, yet inexpensively. 1963 Buick Skylark 2dr Hardtop So far, I've found out that the lower ball joints interchange from 63-70, but I'm having trouble finding any information about the uppers. The part number for the lower is a Moog# - K5075 Now, I'm trying to find the upper ball joint numbers. They look as if they screw in or act as a large 'bolt' and have a nut that is threaded on from the bottom side of the control arm. I keep seeing information when I look stuff up that the years go from 61-63 and then from 64-70 (72 in some cases/cars). I've also seen this car listed as an "A" body. Some of the info from the other uppers show cars that are "F" bodied, so I'm wondering if this'll show an interchangeability between the later cars and the earlier ball joints. However, I'm stuck on the 63 and 64 upper ball joints. Are they different, or the same number? HELP! Thanks! ~Gozt
Yeah, that they are. However, they look just like the ones from the '64 when I saw the pictures - which drew my question.
The K5075 and K5077 fit 63 -70 Buicks but not the Skylark. Skylark 61-63 lower is # K 593 for adjustable and K 5085 for std. design. These are threaded and screw in. Press fit # is K 5087 for 61-63 lower. Upper for 63 only is K 5100. Hope this helps. this info per Moog cat. 1970 and older.
Looks like I may be needing to change control arms. Any suggestions? Do the books have info about which ones would swap to get a different ball joint - thereby allowing the different spindles?
